The Great Captain Sword Letter Opener is a reproduction of the sword used by Gonzalo Ferdinaz de Cordoba, a great military leader in the time of the Catholic Kings (15th and 16th centuries). Gonzalo Ferdinaz de Cordoba got his first victories during the Granada conquest. Later, Cordoba distinguished himself in the campaigns for Naples and Sicily. Called "The Great Captain", Gonzalo Ferdinaz de Cordoba created the army that was the base of the Spanish military power during the 16th century.
