King Arthur is a legendary British leader who, according to myth, folklore, medieval histories and romances, led the defence of Britain against the Saxon invaders in the early 6th century and established an empire over Britain, Ireland, Iceland, Norway and Gaul. Pulled out from the stone or given by the Lady of the Lake according to the different versions of the legend, the life of King Arthur of Britain is however strictly tied to the magical and mysterious Excalibur sword.
These beautiful Damascene Excalibur Sword Letter Openers are manufactured in Toledo Spain by the famous Midas factory of the Marto swordsmiths. The Damascene Excalibur Sword Letter Openers are plated with 24 Karat yellow gold and 18 Karat green gold with a minimum thickness of 4 microns.
Damascening is the art of inlaying different metals into one another, typically, gold or silver into a base metal background to produce beautiful decorative designs that have become the trademark of Toledo, Spain for centuries. The art of Damascene was practiced for centuries by Egyptians, Greeks, and Romans. Around the 15th century the art work became popular in Europe, and Toledo, Spain became famous worldwide for producing such works of art.
