Medieval Templar Knight Swords Collection
The Templar Order was established in 1118 to ensure the custody of the Holy places and to protect the pilgrimage routes. The Templar Order reached it's maximum splendour in the 13th century. The knights Templar considered themselves as knights of God, protectors of the church and christianity. Their motto was:"NON NOBIS, DOMINE, NON NOBIS, SED TUO NOMINI DA GLORIAM". The medieval Templar Knights fought along side King Richard I (Richard The Lion Hearted) and other Crusaders in the battles for the Holy Lands. The Templars were a very well organized military force and they were the clash forces in all the Crusades. The Templar Knights were in the vanguard during the attacks and in the rearguard during the retreats. During one century they ensured the effective government of the latin kingdom of Constantinople. The Templar Knights did not pay taxes or tributes, obeyed only the Pope and they had properties in all of Europe and the Middle East.

The Templar order, of religious and military character, was founded in Jerusalem in the year 1118 by nine crusader knights. with the official denomination of "Order of the Poor Knight of Christ". Later they were known by the "Knight of Solomon's Temple" (Templar) denomination after establishing themselves in King Solomon's ancient temple. The Pope Inocencio II recognized the order of the Templar in the year 1139. Knights of St John Sword
This is a decorative sword inspired by the Order of St John of Jerusalem. The Hospitallers, known officially as "Knights of the Order of the Hospital of St. John of Jerusalem," was founded in Jerusalem during the first Crusade by the Italian friar Gerardo da Sasso to assist the pilgrims travelling the Holy Land. His successor, Raymond du Puy, finished the work with the creation of an armed branch composed of crusader knights. The order has also been known as the "Knights of Rhodes", and as the "Sovereign Order of the Knights of Malta." This order was at first a charitable Order, while the Templars were the first military one. With the fall of the Latin kingdom of Jerusalem in 1291, the Knights retired to the island of Rhodes. In 1522 the Turks finally took Rhodes, and the Hospitallers retreated to Malta. Here they remained till 1793, until Napoleon took Malta, and added it to the French Republic. This ended the sovereign power of the Order. While the Knights of St John had to leave Malta, shorn of their old power and great wealth, they still continued on in different countries. The Knights of St John took with them from Malta their precious relics--chief among them being the hand of St. John the Baptist, the miraculous image of Our Lady of Pherlemon, and a fragment of the true cross.

CAS Hanwei has commissioned Michael 'Tinker' Pearce to design a line of swords that will satisfy both the sparring and cutting needs of Western Martial Arts practitioners. Matching sharp and blunt versions of each sword in the series offer the same outstanding handling characteristics in both disciplines. The Michael 'Tinker' Pearce swords meet Tinker's exacting quality requirements and are built in much the same way as his custom pieces. Each Cas Hanwei Michael 'Tinker' Pearce Sword blade is forged from 5160 Spring Steel, Marquenched to the desired hardness of 50-53 Hrc while the tang is drawn back to the low 30s Hrc. For the Medieval models the very end of the tang is threaded to fit a 5mm allen nut recessed into the pommel which allows for dismantling of the hilt assembly for inspection, to exchange blades if needed, and for anyone wanting to easily customize their grip. Also the Sharp and Blunt blades are interchangeable on all Medieval models. The Viking Sword sharps and blunts are peened for historical authenticity and to meet the needs of collector and reenactment groups. The grips are cord wrapped and leather covered wood and tapered for a comfortable grip. The Paul Chen Practical Viking Sword by Hanwei
The Paul Chen Practical Viking sword by Hanwei is based on the Godfred sword , whose design originated in 9th century Scandinavia. The lobate pommel and down-turned guard are typical of Viking swords of the period, as is the broad blade with its deep, full-length fullers. The sword is well-balanced and, with a weight slightly over 2 lbs., it is very quick.
Our Practical broadswords are all based on authentically styled swords in the
Paul Chen collection but they are tailored to meet the needs of re-enactment and stage combat. These very popular and affordable weapons feature authentic hilt styling, with fully tempered un-edged and un-pointed blades. They are designed to withstand rugged use while providing the level of safety required by many of today’s re-enactment societies. The blades are crafted from 1065 high-carbon steel, hardened to 50HRC, which restricts edge-notching to acceptable levels while providing resilience and protection against brittleness. While the blades are substantial, they are fullered to provide balance and good handling characteristics. They feature 1/16” wide edges and rounded tips for safety. The tangs are also substantial, with radiused corners at the blade shoulders and no welds. The end of the tang is riveted over the pommel, which both eliminates any possibility of inadvertent disassembly and provides a traditional means of tightening a loose hilt. The hardwood grips are leather-covered. The scabbards are fabricated in glass-filled resin, to provide great impact resistance, to eliminate swelling and to minimize blade corrosion problems. The scabbards now feature belt rings that adjust to allow vertical or horizontal carry. The wood-grain finish is attractive, but most re-enactors will decorate the scabbard to match their persona.

The Scottish Claymore
The Scottish Claymore sword is usually identified with the Scots as a symbol of pride and strength. The Claymore , or "Claidheamh-mor" (Great Sword) in Gaelic is a two handed broad sword utilized by the Scottish Highlander throughout several centuries. Used in the constant clan warfare and border fights with the English from the 1400's to 1650 and still in use as late as the Rebellion of 1745, the two-handed Claymore seems to be an offshoot of earlier broadswords as they were developed into great swords.
The Claymore was feared because of its strength and size. It was said that the bearer of a Claymore sword needed no shield because the reach of the sword provided its own protection. Today, the claymore sword stands as a great symbol of Scottish heritage.

of the conspiracies against him when he was a child. Under his rule the scotish laws were codified
and a system of weights and measures were set. Jacob I , a remarkable poet , was asassinated
by Sir Robert Graham in a conspiracy. For his bravery in the battle
and "strong hand" for ruling his country, Jacob I was called "the
Lion of Scotland".

Sir William Wallace, one of Scotland's outstanding national heroes, had a price placed on his head by the English for killing one of their own. Refusing to accept the treaty signed by the Scottish nobles in 1297 by which Scotland submitted to English rule. William Wallace captured several fortresses and inflicted a severe defeat on the English forces in September of 1297, after which he was proclaimed Regent. In 1298 King Edward I invaded Scotland and defeated Wallace's army, forcing him to flee to France. When Wallace later returned to his native Scotland, he was captured, tried for treason and executed.They can take away our lives, but they will never rob us of our Freedom. In 1314, Scottish patriots, starving and outnumbered, attacked the fields of Bannockburn. They fought like warrior poets. They fought like Scots. And they won their freedom forever. This two handed Scottish William Wallace Sword by Marto of Toledo Spain is just like the one used by Mel Gibson throughout the Braveheart™ movie, and much like the one used by Sir William Wallace during the Middle Ages.

The traditional image of King Richard the Lionheart , the second Plantagenet King of England , has come to us through the centuries as a glorious crusader and knight. Captured by the Austrian Emperor Leopold, he was later rescued by the young trouvador Blondel , who discovered Richard when singing a famous ballad.
King Richard was called "Lionheart" at the beginning of the Third Crusade , when King Phillip of France
was compared with a lamb and Richard with a lion. King Richard the Lionheart convinced his officers in Winchester , around a round table , of having belonged to King Arthur´s legend and having the magical sword Excalibur. Richard was a generous knight and a wise politician , but above all a great soldier. His own personal ability was a source of inspiration to his men in battle. For all his bravery , King Richard the Lionheart died foolishly. King Richard the Lionheart thought that an archer who was aiming at him was waving. When King Richard returned the wave , the archer shot him.
